Welkom Students Shine at Eskom Expo: Innovation on Display

Young South African scientists have been showcasing their talents at the Welkom Regional Eskom Expo for Young Scientists. This exciting event, supported by the Department of Basic Education, saw 22 schools battling it out across a range of categories, from Engineering and Computer Science to the Social Sciences. It’s fantastic to see young people engaging with STEM subjects and developing innovative solutions to real-world problems.

The competition covered six distinct areas, giving students the chance to explore their passions and demonstrate their skills. The categories included: Engineering and Computer Science, Scientific Combo Group, Scientific Biometrics and Medical, Mathematics, Energy, and Social Sciences. This diverse range ensured that learners with different interests and talents had a platform to shine.
