KwaZulu-Natal – A 25-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Sbusiso Lawrence, in a shocking case that has sparked outrage and calls for justice. The suspect, who comes from a wealthy background, posted a video and photos of the victim on Facebook after the killing, detailing his reasons in a chilling confession.

The Lawrence alleged in the now-viral post that despite striving to feed and make her happy, his ex had cheated on him. He claimed that he had wasted a fortune on her and that she lied to him that her child belonged to him. He also accused her of abandoning him for the biological father of the child after she received a Road Accident Fund (RAF) payout. The incident reportedly occurred after Lawrence visited the woman’s village unannounced and caught her with another man. He reconciled with her on the surface, convincing her to leave with him in his car. On the way back, a violent disagreement erupted, and he murdered her inside the vehicle.

KwaZulu-Natal police confirmed that Lawrence’s car was found near the scene of the crime. The front passenger seat was stained with blood, and a broken knife was recovered from the area, indicating a violent struggle.  “It appears the suspect lured the victim under false pretenses before carrying out this horrific act,” said a police spokesperson.

Disturbing details of the crime were given in Lawrence’s confession on Facebook, wherein he said he had sacrificed financially and emotionally for the victim. He alleged she later sought to reconcile with him, but only after destroying his relationship with a new partner.

In his post, Lawrence explained that he was betrayed and heartbroken, but the graphic nature of the content, including the video and photo of the deceased, has drawn widespread condemnation.

The woman, however, had a child from another man and falsely claimed it was his.
