How to register your child to an independent school?
At this school, registrations for all Grades are handled directly by the school administration team, rather than through the provincial system. When you register your child, they carefully assess the current number of students in the desired class, including those who have advanced from the previous grade and any students who may need to repeat the year. To consider new registrations, they use a first-come, first-served basis and a waiting list to ensure a fair and organised process.
When do I know if my child is accepted to the school?
After the school results between late November and December. The administrative team carefully reviews the progress of the current students to determine how many will advance to the next grade. They then open up available spots to new applicants from outside the school. Each application is thoroughly considered, and valid applications are placed on a waiting list, which they manage on a first-come, first-served basis.
How much are the school fees for this school?
Private schools in South Africa charge different fees from quantile funding because they are independently funded and managed, allowing them to set their own tuition based on operational costs and educational offerings, unlike public schools that are funded by the government according to the quintile system: e.g.:
Quantile 1 to 3: All schools in these quantiles receive R1,602 per learner annually from the Department of Education.
Quantile 4: Schools that are no-fee receive 1,602 per learner annually, while fee-paying schools receive R803 per learner.
Quantile 5: Similar to Quantile 4, no-fee schools receive R1,602 per learner annually, and fee-paying schools receive R803 per learner.
When is the right time to visit the school?
The best time for the new parents to visit the school is between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, after the students have finished their assembly responsibilities and are settled in classes and an appointment will be highly appreciated.
