Enrolment Trends

The enrolment section is crucial for you the fan of Christian Progressive School. I went the extra mile to consult with the Department of Basic Education to ensure you have the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Christian Progressive School had exactly 1315 learners in 2021 and by the year 2022, 61 families sadly pulled their learners out of the school. Finally in 2023, we see 37 more families registering their learners to this school.

My final observation is that the enrolment is sadly declining. More and more families are pulling their kids out of the school.

Teaching Staff Stability

As mentioned earlier about the enrolment trends, it’s also important to briefly discuss teacher retention, as in whether teachers tend to stay for a long time at the school, or if there are frequent resignations or new hires.

Christian Progressive School had 56 teachers by the year 2021. The year 2022, we see 3 teaching staff leaving the school. The year 2023, there was no change in teachers population at the school.

What is causing the declining number of teachers at Christian Progressive School?

It is difficult to explain the declining teaching staff for a school such as this, I mean who doesn’t want to work at Pretoria, more so for Christian Progressive School. However, this may signal dissatisfaction or better opportunities elsewhere. This leads to heavier workloads for remaining teachers, which can hurt education quality and morale.

Teacher to learner ration for Christian Progressive School is 1:24, One teacher is responsible for 24 learners.

Christian Progressive School Principal

The 2023 principal of Christian Progressive School is Derick Malope, and at the same time the school is going through declining enrolment trend, declining teaching staff and increased pass rate. Perhaps let us also look at the principal or headteacher stability over the years.

  • 2025: We hope the principal continues to be Derick Malope
  • 2024: Coming soon
  • 2023: Derick Malope
  • 2022: Mr Malope Md
  • 2021: Mr Malope Md

Pass Rate

The 2023 Christian Progressive School pass rate is increased to 99,2% as compared to 96,3% in 2022. This resulted in Christian Progressive School Ranking No.: 457 in 2023 within the province (below Lekamoso Secondary School that is currently ranking No.: 456, then followed by Thubelihle Sec School at No.: 458 and Qalabotjha Secondary School ranking No.: 459.

The school pass rate is increased.

  1. Discount for Full Payment: Parents who can afford to pay the full year’s tuition by February 15th receive a 5% discount. This can result in significant savings over the course of the year, especially for higher grades where the fees are higher.
  2. Sibling Discount: Parents with more than one child enrolled at the school are eligible for a R50.00 discount per child each month. This reduces the overall financial burden on families with multiple children attending the school.
  3. Monthly Instalments: The school allows fees to be paid in monthly instalments rather than requiring the full amount upfront. This spreads out the financial load over the year, making it easier for parents to manage payments without significant strain.

These features collectively offer parents opportunities to reduce their financial obligations or make them more manageable, aligning the school’s fee structure with the needs of families.
