Register Grade 1

Register Grade 1 2027 is now open to all learners wanting admission for Grade 1 by next year. Parents can now apply to secure space for their child’s admission from Wednesday, 5 August 2026, at 8h00 and will close on Friday, 4 September 2026, at midnight.

The transition to Grade 1 marks a significant step in a child’s educational journey and now a child is in a real school. Note that the enhanced and improved GDE online system now requires you to still apply for Grade 1 placements, even if your child is currently in Grade R at the same primary school.
