Deputy Minister of Basic Education Visits Vaalwater, Limpopo to Boost School Collaboration
SchoolClick is keeping an eye on developments in education around the world! This week, we’re taking a peek at what’s happening in South Africa, where the Department of Basic Education (DBE) is actively engaging with schools and stakeholders to improve the learning environment for all.
The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Dr Reginah Mhaule, recently visited Meetsetshehla Secondary School in preparation for an oversight visit to Laërskool Vaalwater in Limpopo. This wasn’t just a quick drop-in; it was a chance to connect with key figures in the local education community.
Accompanied by Member of Parliament Knocks Seabi and senior DBE managers, Dr Mhaule led an engagement session bringing together school principals, School Governing Bodies (SGBs), School Management Teams, and district officials from the Waterberg District. Think of it as a big brainstorming session, all focused on making things better for the kids!
This engagement is part of the DBE’s ongoing school monitoring programme. It’s all about collaboration, reflecting on how schools are performing, sharing the best ideas, and tackling the challenges schools in the Waterberg District face. It’s great to see this proactive approach from the South African government. By actively listening to and working with educators and local communities, they’re paving the way for a brighter future for their students.
