Phulong Secondary School Gets a Boost: New Multipurpose Sports Facility

Great news from South Africa this week! The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has been busy, partnering with some big names to boost school facilities. It sounds like they’re really committed to improving the learning environment for students.

The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Dr Reginah Mhaule, was spotted at Phulong Secondary School in Kwa-Thema, Springs. She wasn’t alone though! She joined forces with the Department of Sports, Arts & Culture, Gauteng Education, the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Kaizer Chiefs (a massive football team!), and Nedbank. Quite the line-up!

The occasion? The official handover of the Nedbank Cup Multipurpose Sports facility. This is fantastic for the students at Phulong Secondary School, giving them a proper place to play sports and stay active. It’s brilliant to see partnerships like this that directly benefit schools.

You can see photos from the event on the DBE’s Twitter feed – have a look here: https://x.com/DBE_SA/status/1963227198103388307.

We at SchoolClick think initiatives like this are vital. Giving students access to good quality sports facilities is a key part of a well-rounded education. It helps them stay healthy, learn teamwork, and develop important life skills. A big thumbs up to everyone involved!
