Government Officials Attend National Teachers’ Union Conference

Heads up, everyone! SchoolClick is keeping an eye on education developments around the globe, and today we’re taking a peek at what’s happening with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) in South Africa.

The DBE’s Deputy Minister, Dr Reginah Mhaule, and Director-General, Mr Mathanzima Mweli, were spotted at the National Teachers’ Union (NATU) Triennial National Conference held in Boksburg yesterday, the 3rd of September. This is a big event for teachers in South Africa, bringing them together to discuss important issues and shape the future of education.

It’s crucial for government officials to engage directly with teachers’ unions. These conferences provide a valuable platform for dialogue and collaboration, ensuring that teachers’ voices are heard and considered in policy decisions.

You can see a photo from the event on the DBE’s official Twitter (or should we say, X?) account: https://x.com/DBE_SA/status/1963161327704096874.
