Getting Kids Back to School: National Task Team Tackles Out-of-School Learner Placement

Here at SchoolClick, we’re always keeping an eye on education developments, not just here in the UK, but further afield too. Today, our attention is drawn to South Africa, where the Department of Basic Education (DBE) is tackling a vital issue: ensuring all children have access to education.

The DBE’s National Task Team (NTT) is currently holding a meeting focused on the placement of out-of-school learners. This important gathering, taking place at Kopano Nokeng Country Lodge in the Free State, brings together representatives from all nine Provincial Education Departments (PEDs). It’s fantastic to see such a collaborative effort to address this challenge. You can find more information about the meeting on the DBE’s official Twitter page: https://x.com/DBE_SA/status/1963159110720934086.

Getting children back into the classroom is crucial for their future, and for the future of South Africa. The NTT’s work will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the lives of many young people. It’s inspiring to see the commitment from the DBE and the PEDs to making sure no child is left behind.
